How soon does your cycle come on after stopping birth control? I started taking them
7/9/06, stopped 8/19/06 and I think I had a cycle after that. Not sure of the exact date because I was spotting before I stopped taking the pill. I stopped bleeding on 8/27/06 and I haven't had another cycle. I was taking seasonale

If you stopped bleeding on 28th of August then I would be expecting a period sometime in the next 7 to 10 days. Unfortuantly after stopping birth control it can take several months for a natural cycle to get established.

But that doesn't mean to say that you might not ovulate so if you do not wish to get pregnant, then use additional protection with intercourse.

Reply to Pauline's Post: I'm sorry I stopped bleeding on the 26th. Normally my cycles are 25-26 days. I'm calculating as the last pill I took was on the 8/18, my cycle probably started on 8/21 or 8/22 and ended on 8/26. That would be a normal cycle for me. Should I look at this as a 31 day cycle?

Because you took birth control pills then we cannot say for sure how long your cycle is at the moment as the change from artificial to natural hormones is not a definitive process. It can disrupt a previously regular pattern for several months so it could be anything from 26 days to 35 days and still be 'normal' for the moment.

Does this help?
