Question

I've been on birth control for many years,

Sent to Health Experts March 22, 2007 4:08 p.m.

I've been on birth control for many years, and I get yeast infections often. But the last few months I have been having bad itching, burning, and pain like I have lots of little cuts around my vulva. There is no discharge or smell. There are times when I am not experiencing symptoms until I have sex, and then it is unbearable! We try using lots of lubrication, but it just burns. I read somewhere that vulvodynia is a problem with a lot of women, but doctors don't know how to treat or diagnose it. I guess I am too embarrassed to call the doctor and have to explain to the receptioist that answers what my problem is. I have been using that cream that comes with over the counter yeast infection treatments, and it helps a little with the itching, but not much else, and not for long. Please help. My periods are normal.
