Hello,

I am afraid that you cannot hasten the onset of your period now cince you need to take medicines at least 2 weeks before the date of the period. But you can delay you period.

There are two methods by which you can postpone your period.

1. If you are on birth control pills, and on the 21 day pack, simply start your next pack from the day you finish one pack without leaving any gaps for the period to occur. If you are on the 28 day pack, discard the last 7 pills and start the next pack immediately after you finish the 21 pills. You will not get the period for this month. This is quite safe if not done regularly.

2. If you are not on birth control pills, you will need to take progesterone pills (available as norethisterone, regesterone) at least 7 days before the period is due to start. Continue to take the pills till the date you want the period to occur. You can take these pills continuously for a maximum of 21 days. You will get your period wuthin 7 days of stopping the pills. These are however prescription pills and you will need to talk to your doctor about it.

I hope this helps.
