Question

I discontinued my birth control pills (ortho tri cyclin lo)

Sent to Health Experts September 05, 2007 10:48 p.m.

I discontinued my birth control pills (ortho tri cyclin lo) about 30-40 days ago and had a period about 32-36 days later. I began this period on the 26 of August and stopped on the 30 of August. On the 31 of august my bf and I messed around a little with outercourse. We were both wearing underwear and to make a long story short we ended up getting some semen soaked through his underwear, through my underwear, and ending up on my vulva. That night I took two b/c pills (dark blue) and then two more on Saturday, the 1st of September. Tuesday I noticed that I had spotted a little when I went to the restroom. Could this mean that I am pregnant? Or is this more likely the fact that I discontinued my birth control one month ago (but seemed to have a normal period last week)and then took four birth control pills? Also, I began cramping on Sunday (2 days after the incident) and have been cramping since sunday. Also, today my back hurts and I feel achey. Should I be worried about pregnancy?

Hi,

The chances of pregnancy are minimal from what you describe because chances of conception are very less just 1 day after the period .Also both of you were wearing an underwear and it seems to be less likely significant semen to pass through both of your underwear .Having said this i would advise a pregnancy test if you missed your next period .Pregnancy test should be done atleast 1-2 weeks after missed period .

Just for clarification....we were both wearing underwear, but fluid did get on my vagina. I instantly went to the shower though..Does this information change anything, and would implantation bleeding start just four days after my period accompanied with cramping on sunday (just two days after this episode?

If I understand you correctly, then the four pills that I took between friday and saturday could have caused me to begin cramping on sunday, and again monday, and then spot and cramp both tuesday and wednesday. Is this what you mean by withdrawal spotting due to the pills? And I shouldn't worry that I have been achey and having lower back pain today? Thank you very much I'm sorry to bother you so much.
