Hi, My daughter has severe Bipolar I and is on Eskalith CR, 1175 mg; Topamax, 400 mg; Stelazine, 2 mg; Cogentin, 20 mg; Klonopin wafer (lowest dose) as needed for anxiety; Prevacid, 20 mg; Questran suspension 5ml 2-4 times a day; Digestive Advantage for IBS and Lactose intolerance: Creon 20 for digestion; and Yaz for hormone regulation and control of severe periods. She is very open with me and she and her boyfriend are VERY serious and she is considering sex. Will the Yaz be effective despite all her meds or will he need to use a condom as well? He has been tested and does not have any STDs. My daughter is 17 and has never had sex.

There are no listed drug-drug interactions between Yaz and any of the other drugs she is taking, so the Yaz should be as effective as possible for birth control. Remember nothing but abstinence is 100%, the birth control pills are 99+% effective.

Thanks
