I am sorry but once your period starts then we cannot stop it or postpone it. The medication we use to postpone a period needs to be taken for three days before period starts. Although there is medication available for people with very heavy periods, these would not be enough to stop the flow.
You might find that menstrual cup (Insteads) available from your local drugstore may be more convenient than tampon and should allow you to have a special weekend as they require less frequent changes and intercourse is possible with one inserted.
