My wife mistakenly took her high blood pressure ...

My wife mistakenly took her high blood pressure medication (Atenolol 25 mg. and hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg), 9 hours after she last took it rather than 24 hours between doses. Should we be concerned?

I would not be worried just yet. Both are low dosages and atenolol is not that great at lowering blood pressure anyway. Both medications last in your system about 12 hours. As long as she is not feeling lightheaded or dizzy she should be okay. Even if she was, as long as she is not passing out you can manage from home. Either way have her stay pretty well hydrated tonight, maybe a little bit of extra salt tonight, but don't overdo it! If she passes out , I would go to the ER (they can give her some extra IV fluids and get her blood pressure up)
