I am 49 , female in good general heath . I work out 6 days a week , 5'6 and 175 weight. I take benicar hct for high blood pressure . Suddenly the last few days I have noticed my blood pressure is running higher than usual on the meds 145-150/ over 90-100, lots of redness in my face color , and most notably what seems to be heartburn with no relation to eating . I should add I only have ever had what i think is heartburn one other time , when I was 7 months pregnant. I have now been experiencing it since yesterday . Could this be something else ?

Michelle,

Greetings.

All of the conglomerate of heart burn, elevated blood pressure and redness in face warrants a physician examination and may be EKG. An high index of suspicion should be kept for people who have hypertension as it is considered a significant risk factor for the heart disease. While it can be something else also (with your healthy life style) but still warrants a physician visit and relevant investigations to rule out cardiac cause.

Hope this helps.
