Memory blackouts

What could be the cause of someone not remembering things they do (like putting on their deodorant and ten seconds later asking if they did it) to saying hurtful things followed up with yelling over small harmless questions? Then they have no memory of doing it and think you are crazy. He takes 10 mg of blood pressure medicine. Could his pills not be working? I am worried this be a symptom of a heart attach or heart disease. Please help! Thank you, Linda

I feel that I have ask a sensitive question, Linda: Does he use any drugs or alcohol?

I ask because everything you describe above is seen with substance use, especially alcohol.

These symptoms are not usual with heart attack or heart disease, although there certainly could be an underlying neurological disorder.

You might to have a tape recoder around so you can play back those things he says he does not remember.

Is he possessive of you or gets jealous easily? If so, this might be a manipulative behavior...to make you think you ARE crazy and can't live without him.

What you describe does warrant investigation with a doctor but until you can prove to him that there is a problem (hence the tape recorder) he is unlikely to agree to see a doctor for something he thinks is about you, not about him.

Reply to BarbaraTaylor's Post: 20yr X cop lot of anger issues. Highly stressed right now with investigative work, plus he owes me over 100,000 dollars. No drugs, but a few drinks and he becomes horrible. Time bomb...does not hit but verbal hurts. I totally agree that the recorder is the only answer because he absolutely does not believe me.
