Whats up with my blood pressure
Sent to Health Experts January 03 06:09 PM

I am a 22 year old male who lifts weights for an hour to an hour and a half 4 days a week. A couple of years ago I had my blood cholesterol tested and it was 123 with a good HDL/LDL ratio. But I had my blood pressure taken today and it was 143/67. What would be you best guesses as to why the systolic was so high and the diastolic so low?

If you lifted weights before getting your blood pressure checked then that can cause your BP to be high. Also if you checked your BP at a store that has one then I've heard that they can give false readings. Before you have it checked again sit still for about 5-10 minutes and then have it checked. Your BP can rise or fall if you have just stood up or sat down right before you have it checked. If it is still high then get seen by a doctor for it. They will most likely make you come in and have 3 BP checks on different days to see if it is really high. One more thing, if you take supplements, check the side effects.....
