My mother is 73 years old. Her blood pressure has been high for several years, however, she will not go to the doctor.   Her blood pressure has been 185 over 85. Within the past week it has climbed to 195 over 88 - around 4:35 to night we checked it and its now 209 over 82 with a pulse of 77. I know that she could have a stroke or a heartattack but I can't get her to go to the doctor. Can you please give me an idea of what to expect, what to look for and what this means. Also if you have any suggestions on how to get her to go to the doctor I would appreciate your help.

Thank you,
