Do you mean you had your ears checked for physical problems, functional problems (hearing loss, for example), or both? If the doctor only looked at your ear, you also need to undergo screening for hearing loss and inner ear damage. Aside from ear infections, fluid, wax, and foreign bodies in the ear, this kind of buzzing can also be the result of a few other things, particularly, ear injury and/or hearing loss. Other causes include:
- Use of certain substances: alcohol, aspirin, antibiotics, caffiene, and others
- High blood pressure
- Anemia
- Allergies
- Aneurysm or tumor in the ear or brain, or along the nerves
Thus, a series of diagnostic tests would be appropriate now to rule out health problems and see if there's any hearing loss. This might include hearing tests, CT scans, X-rays, MRIs, and studies of the blood vessels. There are a variety of treatments, but the best one is going to depend on the nature of the cause.

I hope this helps!
