I am an L P N so I know about medical problems, but my son who is 54 has migrain headaches, mostly just the black spots and if he lays down for awhile they go away, but he gets them about 3 times a week. I used to get them when I was younger but they went away. Also he has spells that his blood pressure drops and if he doesn't lay down he will pass out for a minute. I took it yesterday while he was having this spell and it was 97/65 P99 then it went to 112/76 P 84 then 106/79 P76 then 105/67 P82 These were about 5 minutes apart He has no insurance because he is trying to start his own business and doesn't make enough yet.

You certainly know how to present a difficult problem. The drop in blood pressure may be vasovagal problem related to the migraines, but heart disease must be ruled out as the cause. Three migraine headaches per week is a good reason to start some type of preventative therapy. The drops in blood pressure make things a little difficult since the common preventative medications used are either beta blockers like Inderal, Lopressor, etc and calcium channel blockers like verapamil, calan, etc. As you know, both beta blockers and calcium channel blockers are used to treat hypertension and can possibly worsten the problems he has with low blood pressure. Sometimes the anticonvulsant medications can be used to prevent or reduce the frequency of migraines. In children, Periactin (an antihistamine) is a good treatment for migraines and it works occasionally in adults. Triptans such as Imitrex and Zomig treat the individual migraine, but it isn't a preventative medication. In order to get a handle on the migraines, your son needs to see a doctor.
