I have iching on my penis it seems like it is inside.

I have iching on my penis it seems like it is inside. There is no visable redness, sores, bumps. It is mostly when I am sleeping. I have not been sexuly active for a few years and just started again.

Yes I take meds for high blood pressure. I take Plavix, lipitor, Lisinopril,and corig, and centrim silver. The iching just started about a week ago. I have been takeing the meds for a year and 7 months now.

Your symptoms can be caused by allergy, infection or neuropathy. If what you experience is purely itching, then neuropathy is unlikely and allergy or infection are most probable causes. Allergy can be due to condoms, any new undergarments, detergents, creams or any environmental agent.

Also since you recently resumed sexual activity, there is possiblity of sexually transmitted disease like chlamydia which has minimal symptoms in males.

Having high blood pressure does put you at risk of neuropathy, but this option should be considered only when others have been ruled out. Also if the blood pressure have been well controlled with treatment, neuropathy is unlikely.

So for now you may try over the counter anti-histamines like claritin or benadryl and see if it helps. Also try to find the allergan. And if you notice any discharge or rah, you should see your doctor for examination.
