I am a healthcare worker, and recently I was exposed to blood from a patient who was dianosed with Hepatitis A the next day. I am pretty sure the exposure was significant, although at the time, I didn't report it. I had a dose of Immunoglobulins when I was about 12 or 13 becasue my sixth grade teacher had Hep A and the whole middle school had to get shots. I am now 38. Am I still immune from those antibodies? If not, how long do I have to get an Immunglobulin shot from the time of the exposure? I also read something about a new vaccine. Would this apply in my case?
