Hello,

A person needs the liver in order to survive. It sounds like as much as possible has been removed, and chemotherapy is the only option left for treating the cancerous areas that could not be removed surgically. If the cancer is not treated it will grow and metastasize and she will die. Chemotherapy would seem to be the only viable option.

Reply to Schuyler_ANP's Post: I was looking for a possibility from a natural health perspective. We were already told that she has to do chemotherapy, but I have heard of people who have used alternative medicine (homeopathic remedies etc.) that never used Chemotherapy and were completely healed or in remission.

Hi there.

I received a note from Schuler_ANP stating you were looking for alternative treatments for liver cancer. I believe the best resource for anyone dealing with cancer is Cancer Treament Centers of America. There are 5 locations across the US and (hopefully) soon to be two more (one in Georgia). You can help bring CTCA to Georgia by clicking here: http://www.cancercenter.com/about-us/georgia-cancer-patients-first.cfm Nonetheless, the CTCA provide individuals with a variety of treatment options including conventional and alternative treatments.

At CTCA, several doctors and therapists are invloved in your care. This includes. Naturopathic Doctors, Conventional Oncologists, Acupuncturists, Dieticians, and Counselors to name a few. They provide a whole body approach to treatment. Considering the cancer in this case is liver cancer, there are several options. It is estimated that 33% of all cancer deaths are related to malnutrition. That said, nutritional therapies may include: Beta carotene, Selenium, Vitamin C, Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), Vitamin E, and others as appropriately determined by the clinicians. In addition, patentsreceive treatment options including naturopathic medicine, pain management, physical therapy, and many others. You can find more information about CTCA and treatment options here: http://www.cancercenter.com/liver-cancer/nutritional-therapy.cfm

At this point, I suggest contacting CTCA to discuss treatment options. There are alot of possibilities.

I hope this is helpful.
