I have stage 4 bone cancer and am in major pain. I have also been going to a methadone clinic for 3 years and take methadone daily. What can I take that will work for pain relief?

Hello

There is morphine and dilaudid for pain control. They come in patches as well. Have you considered going to a pain clinic? They could help you a lot with different solutions. Your doctor would be able to recommend the best one in your area.

Hope that helps,

Kerry

Methadone blocks all opiates. I am on duragesic patches and have taken dilaudid. They are like taking tylenol. The only thing that has helped at all is when I take my regular dose of methadone, which is high already. My Doctor doesn't understand methadone either.

YES, I WEAR 2 100MG PATCHES DAILY. (They are no better than taking 2 Tylenol.) I don't think you understand that methadone knocks out all opiods.   That means they do not block pain. I need someone that knows about methadone to tell me what to do when I have surgery next month for pain relief. Do I take more methadone since that is the only thing that still works...if so how much more. I'm on 120 mg. a day now. And have been for 3 years for addiction. My methadone clinic doesn't give methadone for pain, only for addiction. I have talked to my oncologist and he keeps giving me pain meds that do not work on me, ex. diladid, actigue suckers 1600 mg. etc. None of these opiods work on a person that is on methadone because it knocks out all opiods.
