cancer is running in my husbands family. He's recovering from complete removal of rectum with permanent ostomy. Three weeks post op and he is miserable with pain that seems associated with gas. Nausea is a problem. His cancer was in rectum. How can he stop getting this horrible gas and does these symptom subside with time.

Husbands cousin is now going to a surgeon (gastroscopy) to do a test called :coconoscopy. All searchs suggest my spelling is incorrect but it is not, we don't mean colonoscopy. Please help us if you can. Thanks.
