My OB/GYN told me I have Lichen Sclerosis. She also said it might turn to cancer. It is in my genitals for the last 10 yrs. Lately it has become very tichy and with a burning sensation. The Dr. has given some oint to apply twice a day. In five wks she wants to obtain a bx. Is this all possible.

This is a skin condition that can occur anywhere on the body. The exact cause is unknown, though autoimmunity is theorized. Treatment usually consists of steroid ointments or creams, or combined ointment creams. Lichen sclerosis does not cause skin cancer, although there have been reported cases of skin cancer occurring in the same area as lichen sclerosis. You can read more about it here
