My gynecologist said the test results were inconclusive and she wants me to have a d&c. We will be discussing the procedure on Friday, the 16th. Is this usually a test to verify ovarian cancer one way or the other without trying to scare me. I haven't had sex in over 5 years because I did not want to complicate things vaginally.

Optional Information:
Female , Age: 48

Already Tried:
I've had an ob\gyn exam every year.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

This is basically a procedure to clean out your uterus and not a way of testing for ovarian cancer. If they wanted to test for ovarian cancer they would do a biopsy to determine if there were cancer cells that were not benign so this is a way to clean your female parts but not to check for cancer and I do feel that if there was a chance that you did have any abnormalities which could relate to ovarian cancer they would be up front and honest with you.
