I have been diagnosed with lung cancer and have already received aggresive chemotherapy, 8 hours a day 3 times. The cancer has shrunk and originally I was told if this occurred they would be able to do surgery. Now they are saying they can't. If I am stage 4 and am willing to undergo the surgery why won't they do it. Also what is the possible time frame for a person with stage 4 without surgery to survive. Is there any chance at remission at this point. I am being treated at a VA Hospital sot therefore I am not ready to throw in the towel yet.

Hello

I highly suggest you get a second opinion! If you can tell me your location I can suggest some places for you. I'm so glad to hear you haven't given up hope. Have you been tested to see if it has spread? That's another thing you need to find out. I would also ask specifically why they feel that they cannot operate. People can and do live with only one lung. Is it in both?

The more info you can provide, the better I'll be able to help you.

Hang in there!
