photo dynamic skin cancer treatment/effect on eyes
Sent to Health Experts September 25 09:51 PM

I'm having photo dynamic treatment on my face due to numerous basal skin cancers. I went to my first treatment today, and the flashing light they used caused horrific pain in my eyes. I had gauze and red goggles over my eyes, but the flash was still terrible. My question is: can the light they use in this treatment have any adverse effects on my eyes/sight?

No as the goggles they gave you were the type that would block the harmful wavelengths of light used for the procedure. There is no need for alarm on this. You were properly treated by being given the goggles. Had you said orange goggles then yes there would have been a problem. But your fine and good to go and do not worry. Let me know if I may further assist you on this.
