Hi,
Having only one testicle does not make one sterile. While the number of sperm produced over a lifetime will be fewer than it would have been with two testicles, it only takes one sperm to fertilize an egg. There are normally sufficient hormones and sperm produced to enable someone to have children. If there are any concerns the doctor can run tests of sperm count.
There is a concern if one of the testicles did not descend properly and is still entrapped in the abdomen. There can be an increased risk of cancer in the undescended testicle.
