Hi

The normal range for K Level is is 3.7 to 5.2 mEq/L.You have slightly less level of pottasium in body.

The normal values for serum Amylase are - 23 to 85 U/L.You have high level of amylase.High level of amylase may indicate -

Righ now ,these lab tests that you gave me, are not the tests ,to determine ,what of these conditions , is the cause of the elevated amylase and low K. These lab test do not point to cancer.

Elevated amylase can be caused, by a pancreatic or gallbladder disease.

The gallbladder, a structure ,on the underside of the liver, that stores the bile, produced by the liver, before the bile, is secreted into the intestines. When stones are formed inside , the gallbladder, these stones can pass to the pancreatic duct, producing , an inflammation of the pancreas. The pancreas produces many important substances, like amylase (an enzyme that helps to absorb the carbohydrates). When the pancreas becomes inflammed, begins to produce an excess of amylase.

It is very uncommon ,to have cancer in these organs, gallbladder or pancreas.

But the test, that you will need to have , to determine if these lab results are caused by : an inflammation of the pancreas, the gallbladder, or if you have stones, inside the gallbladder ,producing all these symptoms.

The stones will need to be removed, surgically . To relieve all your symptoms, bringing these results, to the normality again .

The tests ,that you will need to have done , are : Magnetic Resonance Imaging and an Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatiography. With these tests, the doctor will visualize the gallbladder, pancreas and ducts that communicate both, to the intestines. In this way , you will know, the specific cause of your condition.
