My husband has a skin disorder that covers most of his body. He has thick scaly plaques that are not sore and do not itch. The skin can be easily peeled from his body with little discomfort. Some of the patches are very small and some are quite large. His skin in extremely dry and flaky. Nothing topical has worked to combat the plaques. He was told that his white blood cells leave his body through his skin and settle on the skins's surface, healing itself over and over again. Have you ever heard of this skin disorder? Where does it come from. Is there a cure of course of therapy outside of minor radiation? Is it a type of cancer?

Optional Information:
Male, Age: 38, Florida

The doctors thought it was psoriasis, but found out that it was what I described. I don't know the name but he was prescribed a sort of tanning session at the hospital for a few minutes a few times a week to treat the condition. We tried an expensive ointment that was $90 for a very small tube to cover his entire body. When the plaques start to disappear the skin color fades. My husband has a very dark complexion and some of the spots are turning pink.
