I have a swollen groin lymphnode on my right leg and ...

I have a swollen groin lymphnode on my right leg and am wondering what it could be a symptom of? I already went to the doctor once and he felt it was nothing and to stop touching it. It has been two weeks and has not gone down in size

Could this be a sign of cancer? Is that why you recommend a biopsy? If my GP wants to adhere to the wait and see approach - can you recommend a specialist in my area I should go visit?

Also, he mentioned the same information you provided regarding the drainage of the leg - I have had no bug bites or lesions on my right leg...very peculiar...

Cancer of lymph nodes (lymphomas) are very unlikely to start from inguinal lymph nodes. As a matter of fact wait and watch policy is not wrong as majority would resolve on their own.

But if you are lot of anxious, you can contact a general surgeon in your area to send it for biopsy. Most of them would be benign. Take my word.
