I have had 2 internal ultrasounds and have just had a MRI to help diagnose a ovarian cyst measuring 4.1cmx1.5cmx3.0cm the impression of the radiologist who read the report is a septated cystic mass in the left adnexal region and doesn't appear to represent a dialated fallopian tube.I am scheduled for a laporopscopy on sept.27 should i try to get in sooner .My mother had a radical mastectomy when she was only 35.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

Septated cyst means that the cyst is divided into segments.
The only sifnificant part is how thich the walls are between the parts. There is a higher risk of malignancy if the wall is thick.
It's good that you are scheduled for a laparoscopy.

There is another blood test called CA-125 which determines the level of antigen in the blood ,used as a screening who are at risk of ovarian cancer. Meanwhile you can ask your doctor to order the blood test.

no...the walls between the multiseptated cyst measure 18mm and 14 mm. you said the thicker those walls were the more likelyit would be to be cancerous. I wanted to know what that amount would be.
