DOES HE HAVE GENITAL WARTS?????
Sent to Health Experts April 13 01:48 PM

I have been with my boyfriend for 2 years. He is my first boyfriend and first sexual partner. He has had 6 sexual partners prior to me, 3 of which he had unprotected sex with, I am on the pill, but we never used condoms.. For two years now, he has shown no signs of any STD's or anything abnormal at all, and I trust that he would tell me anyway..And I havent shown any signs of anything myself..But recently I noticed a bump near the base of his penis, he said it was a pimple, but I saw it there STILL the following week..its a good sized bump, perhaps the size of a pea, and he says its a pimple and that he squeezed some puss out of it already and that its just filling up with puss again (like some pimples do) I was afraid that its a Wart or something, because it doesnt seem like a pimple to me..i squeezed it and nothing came out, there was no opening where anything WOULD come out, and it was very painful to him when i squeezed it..But he said it cant be a wart because if he had genital warts, they would have been all over his penis, and for years now..and that I myself would have started having warts years ago as well, Im just nervous about that bump! It's not as hard as a wart but it really doesnt seem like a pimple. He also has pretty bad eczema and claims that eczema causes these hardened pimples that dont go away sometimes...Could it be just a form of those stubborn pimples called Pallups or something? or is it an STD? Arent there some strains of Genital warts that can be dormant for the fisrt some odd years??? WHATS GOING ON!? please help

First, genital warts don't necessarily show "everywhere" on the affected area -- often it's just one -- you can carry the virus that causes this for years and nothing show up -- it can be caused to flare up by stressors or any number of things.  He could have been symptom free for years and not shown any signs.  You might also look at his penis and see if you see any round scarring - these are signs of previous genital warts that have been removed.  I would suggest going to your GYN or local center for disease control and have testing done just to be sure.  It could also be a tumor of sorts and if it doesn't go away within the next week or so you should insist that he have it checked out by his doctor.

Good luck and be careful.

Reply to medicalassist's Post: Yeah I actually got a pap smear less than 4 months ago, and nothing abnormal came back, so does that make me clean? Or do thingsl ike Genital warts not even show on a Pap Smear Test? The bump is light in color, and smooth with no scabs or anything at all...I appreciate your prompt response, I meant to mention that I got a pap smear..

A pap smear will not detect this - paps are generally for detection of cancer or cancer causing agents.  the fact that the bump is smooth is a little uncharacteristic of venerial warts - they generally have a more "wrinkled" appearance -- kind of a cauliflower look.

Reply to medicalassist's Post: Hm ok, I dont suspect he knows of anything and isnt telling me, hes just not that kind of person, but im concerned because HE may not even know it! anyways, he claims he has something JUST like it on his forearm, i havent seen it yet but Ill give him the benefit of the doubt, from what ive researched so far, Genital Warts arent that big of a deal and go away after awhile..Well Im glad I dont have cancer atleast! My roommate just got diagnosed with cervical cancer which was caused by a certain Cancer Causing strain of HPV, i think she said strain 16 or 18 causes cervical cancer..And it cannot be detected in men, they are just carriers for life! Anyways, Thanks for your answer, i appreciate your time!
