I have chest pain that radiates to my left shoulder. It appears positional. I also feel that I have to 'burp' but it does not seem to releive the pain. I have a hx. of hiatal hernia and anxiety disorder for which I take Nexium and Xanax (prn)... Even though my MD and I know that Xanax are not PRN meds, they seem to help the anxiety when it's out of control. I do not have diaphoretic episodes, SOB, or nausea. I am worried that I may have a cardiac condition, however, when I check my peripheral pulses, they appear strong and steady. No changes in my VS either. Can anyone help me understand what the sub-scapular pain in my left shoulder might be related to? I am a nurse but this has me baffled and I don't want to spend the $$ to see the MD for no reason.
Can you help point me in the right direction?
