Last night my dad had chest pain for about an hour and a half. He said it felt like heartburn. He went to work this morning and said now he just is a little sore and has a headache. Did he have a heart attack?

ACCEPTED Check Mark

Most likely not although I could not say for sure without some testing. Pain from a heart attack would not go away after an hour. He would continue to have pain until the blockage is opened up.

Either that or until the heart muscle would completely die. That would take many hours. He probably had some gastric reflux this is what it most sounds like. It will typically go away after an hour or so.

He should ber just fine but if he keeps having this happen repeatedly he should have it looked into.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any further questions. I would be glad to answer them.

Thank you Dan. I am sure we will have him checked out. It's a little scary because he did get dizzy at two points during the intense pain. The pain afterwards has been described to me as soreness though. The soreness has lasted for about 4 -5 hours so far. Thank you so much for your answer.
