Help with chest pain! I have been having chest pain-in ...

Sent to Health Experts January 10, 2007 8:18 p.m.

Help with chest pain! I have been having chest pain-in middle of breast bone- and electrical charges shooting across the left of my chest around and above the left nipple. These last about 5 seconds and are gone. I have had all the workups-echo, catscan, nuclear stress test and massive bloodwork, everything is said to be fine. Also had scope done down the front and up the rear with some inflamation in the stomach. I am 40, male, 5-5, 160 lbs., exercise, smoke and drink caffinated soda. The pain is bothersome and does not happen everyday. Sometimes it wont happen for a week. Doctor has me on cholesterol medicine-it was 170 and protonix for reflux. I have no shortness of breath and can walk on the treadmill for an hour with no major exhaustion. Also have knee pain.

Hi, thank you for the quick response. The pain in my left side of chest is like an electrical charge that starts from the middle and shoots straight across towards my arm, then its gone. Another sympton that occurs is just before I fall a sleep-in that semi sleep- I will get a thump in the middle of my chest and an electrical charge running up towards my chin. Lasts for a second an then its gone. Only happens the once and then I can get to sleep. I know these symptons sound crazy but they are getting frustrating and my DR has sent me to a cardiologist and he has reviewed all the records and has me on a heart monitor. Stated that the results of all my tests are normal. Any clue?

ACCEPTED Check Mark

Hello,

It looks like you had extensive tests to rule out a heart disease and all the tests came out normal and did not show any heart disease. This is important because probably no other medical conditon which gives similar symptoms can be as life threatening as heart disease . I suggest to you to see another cardiologist as a second opinion so nothing is missed relating to the heart. If again nothing is found probably you do not have any heart problem . It is something else, as i mentioned in my previous post such as esophageal spasm. A pinched nerve in your upper back or neck may also needs to be ruled out.
