Sent to Health Experts November 23 08:19 PM

sometimes i have like a quick sharp pain on my left side of my chest, this morning it hurt me for about 2 hours and then it quit. I have these pains pretty often, it feels like a "catch" in my chest. almost like something is pulled in chest. The pain is just off and on. like it will catch and then stop, and a few minutes later it does it again. I had nothing to eat before these pains, so i know i know its not heartburn. Please help me figure this out.

Dear Customer (name blocked for privacy)

Doctors take chest pain very seriously, so any chest pain, heaviness or discomfort especially if there is radiation to the left shoulder arm or jaw with or without shortness of breath and sweating must be evaluated for possible heart problem which is time sensitive.

I recommend that you go to the ER and get checked.

Please feel free to ask any other question.

Dear Reba

Chest pain is something need to be evaluated by MD or ER doctor to exclude heart problem.

Gas, muscles, nerves ...etc can cause chest pain but you need to be evaluated to ease your mind.

Your doctor may do simple blood tests, EKG, echo cardiogram, stress test or even cardiac catheterization to rule out heart problems.

If your cardiac work up is free then you might need to ask your MD about chest CT scan or MRI.

I hope it will be something simple and not heart or other serious conditions related.
