my grandson of 22 months old, has been diagnosed with having Chlamydia in the eyes, how does this happen and will this afffect his sight at all in later life

Hi,
Chlamydia conjunctivitis can occur in children. In most situations there is no specific reason for getting this disease in kids, and it is treated with specific antibiotic like chlortetracycline eye ointment and oral eryhthromycin.
Screening for STDs in parents maybe done as per the clinical situation, though this is an uncommon source of transmission
