can you get an std at 17, not know, not get tested, then get tested when you are 28 and have it not show up any longer? or once you have it, unless it gets treated you have it for life, and will show up in tests, till it gets treated.

There are MANY reasons a woman is infertile; STD's is only ONE of them via blockage of tubes. the most common organism to cause infertility is chlamydia. False negatives for that do occur depending on what test was done. What makes you think you had an untreated STD?

Thank you for your response and I am more than willing to pay let me rephrase my question. I wanted to know if once you contract an STD, do you have it in your system for life, until it is treated or can it just spontaneously go away?

When I was 16 I was sexually active, I got pregnant had an abortion(regret it daily) during this time I also had symptoms of pain during sex, buring during urination, abdominal pain, I was unfortunately too scared to seek help and ignored it. I read in a magazine later that STD's create these symptoms and more importantly can make you sterile.
Still I ignored it symptoms went away after a few weeks.
cut to several years later, I get tested for STD's and they all come back negative?
QUESTION: IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE STD WAS IN MY SYSTEM AT ONE TIME, BUT SINCE SO MANY YEARS HAVE GONE BY, IT IS NOW GONE. AND IF SO THE DAMAGE IS DONE TO MY REPRPDUCTIVE ORGANS. (NOTE: I DON'T KNOW IF I AM STERILE) IJUST KNOW I HAVE NOT GOTTEN PREGNANT SINCE THE ABORTION ADN HAVE HAD SEX WITHOUT PROTECTION AND TRIED TO GET PREGNANT ACTUALLY RIGHT AFTER THE ABORTION. I KNOW ALL STUPID CHOICES ON MY PART. I AM NOW MARRIED, CHRISTIAN, AND SHUDDER WHEN I THINK OF THE CHOICES I HAVE MADE IN THE PAST.
