Hi,

  • If you are infected, treatment is with antibiotics. Make sure your sexual partner also gets treatment. Otherwise, the untreated partner just becomes re-infected. Repeated infection can cause far worse fertility problems in women. Not all antibiotics are effective. There are two major groups of antibiotics that work so make sure you get one of these. One is called tetracycline and the usual prescribed drug is doxycycline. It should be one tablet twice a day for one week. The other group is macrolides and azithromycin is the most convenient as you take four tablets at the same time.

  • If possible, encourage your ex-partners to take get tested, because this infection can stay unrecognised for months, if not years.

Hi,

One dose may or may not clear you from chlamydia so you should consult your gynaecologist. After taking proper dose you may clear in 48 hours provided you are not reinfected.

Hi,

Yes condom is fairly safe provided it does not rupture during act.
