I am a 45 year old woman whose periods up until now have been every 23 days and last 4 to 5 days with heavy bleeding. I also have had a fibroid tumor for past 11 yrs. with no problems from it. Last month my period lasted 11 days with heavy bleeding and alot of clotting. It stopped for 10 days but then I got it again and I have now been bleeding for 19 days with clotting. I have been waiting for the bleeding to stop to call my Gyn for a visit. The bleeding doesn't seem to be stopping, but I don't want to be examined while this is going on. Is it normal to have 2 prolonged periods in a row. This has never happened before? I appreciate any help you can give me.
