This is a gynecological question ... I'm at the end of my period, so I'm very light flow-wise but today had achiness/crampiness. When I removed my last tampon it was black and there was a very foul odor. The aches are still there as is the odor, even after a bath. Do I have an infection of some sort, or need to seek treatment?

ACCEPTED Check Mark

You might have an infection, or it could be just the end of your period. Sometimes the end blood can be darker. If the cramping and/or bleeding doesn't resolve in a few days, or if it gets worse and/or you start having other symptoms such as itchiness or rash, you will want to seek a doctors attention.

I've never experienced the foul odor before either, is that also common at the end of a period when tampons are used?
