I am 18 years old and I have been on Yasmin birth control since I was 16. I was put on birth control because when I ovulated, there were cysts in my ovaries. I have been cramping really bad these past few months (Jul-Sept '06) and here lately, I have had irregular periods and really dark purplish black discharge before and after my menstrational cycle. I went to the gynecologist and he did tests and said that my uterus is pointing left and that my right ovary is hidden and hard to find because of this. He did culture tests and they came back negative. But I have been having really bad troubles with my period for the last few months. What should I do about my period cramps and discharge, because my gynecologist said it was normal, where I was just having trouble ovulating?
