By taking the morning after pill, this can throw off her cycle and in her case, which in her case, she started early. Her whole cycle may be changed, or she may still end up with her normal period in a week again. As this can cause cramping etc. since it wasn't her "own" body that has produced this period. If the pain becomes severe, or something that Motrin doesn't help with, then she should be checked just to make sure there is no type of infection etc. But keep in mind, since her cycle was lighter, she may be getting ready for her actual cycle, as this can increase stomach cramping, due to hormone changes.

and the pain isnt cramping but a pain in her stomach. about 4 inches below the ribcage...not in the lower back and pelvis like normal cramps are....also the lighter period started about 6 days after she took the pill....thank you youve been very helpful

Pain near your bellybutton can be related to a small intestine disorder or an inflammation of your appendix (appendicitis). Directly above the navel in the upper middle section of the abdomen - is where you might feel pain associated with stomach disorders. Persistent pain in this area may also signal a problem with your upper small intestine (duodenum), pancreas or gallbladder.

So the pain she is feeling may not even be related to her period at all. Being ill etc, can also throw off a womans cycle as well.

So if this is not her "normal" cramping, I would have her checked out in person. I am also including this link for appendix, so you know what to look for just in case. Appendicitis
