I have been on the Depo shot for almost three yrs now

I have been on the Depo shot for almost three yrs now which has been going fine until recently. I have never had any complications ( pain, cramping, bleeding) until a week ago. I have severe pain and cramping going on and i feel a lot of pressure like I would as I would with a period.
I dont know whats going on.
