My daughter has had an orange tongue for a couple of weeks. She says it is coated as well. She cleans it with an apparatis that the dentist gave her each morning and each night but the condition persists. She is not constipated. Any ideas what may be causing this?

Sara543,

As it is persisted for this long, and is not due to anything in her diet, she will need to see her regular doctor for an evaluation. Quite possibly she has an infection. Normally this would be treated with brushing the tongue and rinsing with a diluted hydrogen peroxide solution. Her doctor may prescribe medication to eradicate the infection.
