I have a tooth absecess it started today,I have 2 types of antibiotics at home with me,can you tell me if one is better than the other to start taking for this, I will have to call a dentist in the morning and hope I can get one, one is called Avelox and I have started to take it for a ear infaction 2 days a go, the other is Clindamycin I have that one for 10 days but have not taken any.Thank you .

Of the 2 Avelox (aka. Moxifloxacin) is definitely the better choice for a Tooth Abscess; it kills most Strep. and Staph. species bacteria, which are the likely pathogens.

For pain (since darvocet didn't help, I would recommend 3 Advils every 6 hrs, w/ food; until your dentist can give a stronger pain killer tomorrow).
