I recently got several metal fillings put in my teeth where previously I had cavities.. I was wondering if there was any protective liquid, gel, or paste I can apply to those fillings to keep them from getting senstivie or prevent the sensitivity to metal.. maybe a white paste or something you have to apply every week or month or so. Does anything out there exist, and if so what is it?

Optional Information:
Male, Age: 23, Arizona

Already Tried:
I'm already using sensodyne and prevident sensitive - but i'm looking for something topical to seal the fillings entirely.

REPLIED Check Mark

Yes actually there is, my children had this done in school. You will have to see a dentist to get it however. It is called a 'sealant' and basically what it is is a thin plastic coating that is painted over the surface areas of the teeth. These last UP to 10 years. They did a great job for my children.

I'm going to see my dentist tomorrow and i'll ask him about it and see if it's what he thinks is right.. it definately sounds like that i'm looking for though. I'll come back and give you an accept afterwards. Thank you.
