Question

I went to the dentist on Tuesday because I woke up ...

Sent to Health Experts July 26, 2007 10:17 p.m.

I went to the dentist on Tuesday because I woke up with swelling on both cheeks, and jaw. I originally thought I had a bad tooth, but he told me my tooth is healthy, and that the nerve is the trouble and will need a root canal. He told me he put a small hole in my took so the infection clears and scheduled me for a root canal in 10 days. On Wednesday afternoon I started bleeding from my mouth. It was little blood, nothing drastic, but it continued all evening. I went back Thursday morning and he sent me to an oral surgeon. He told me it's a blood clot by my jaw. I took a look at my mouth when I came home and noticed a pea sized lump by tooth #21. The swelling by the other cheek has gone away, the swelling by my jaw has slowly gone away, but the swelling on my infected side jaw is still there. I was given Amoxicillan by my dentist, but my oral surgeon said I should take Augumentin instead. Should I be worried? I don't feel pain. Just swelling and the blood droplets that come out.
