I've had a toothache for several days and it has been accompanied by an earache on the same side. I went to the dentist for x-rays and he could not see anything that would indicate a problem. He thought it was possible that I may have damaged some tissue by biting too hard on something or getting some food particle under the gums to irritate it. I was told to take 4 Advil three times a day for 4 days, then call and let him know how it was doing. It seems that as soon as the advil starts to wear off, the teeth hurt again and the dull earache is still present. I can't even really pinpoint the exact tooth where the pain is coming from. Is it possible that I might have some problem with the ear that is causing the teeth pain, or is the toothache causing the earache? Any suggestions as to what I should do next?
