I have a friend with bipolar disorder. She has become very involved in DBSA, the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance.

The website for the alliance is http://www.dbsalliance.org/

They have a ton of free information as well as access to support groups and publications.

It would be a great place to go for information and support. The following websites can also provide her with some information about the disorder:
www.bipolar.com/
bipolar.about.com/
www.mhsource.com/bipolar
www.bipolarworld.net/

I hope this helps.
