My name is Michael Martin and I am NYState Paramedic for 24 ...

My name is Michael Martin and I am NYState Paramedic for 24 years. I responded to a motor vehicle accident a few days age where the driver alledely a seizure behind the wheel. It was not a typical tonic-clonic seizure but the driver suffered what I would consider an atpical seizure like disorder. After the driver lost control of the car he hit a tree and caused some dfamage to his vehicle, his rate was about 30mph. During his removal from the vehicle he became very combative and would not obey and commands,I would deacribe him as having the strenght of 10 people.
Upon physical exam the patient had no obvious trauma but his mental status was an issue. While enroute to the hospital an IV was established and a blood glucose level was done and it was 100. His heart rate was 100bpm B/P 140/100 RESP were 24 and labored mental status was verbal but very confused and extremely combative. Medical history was a previous MI times 2 years. His meds were effexor.plavix and altacce.

Dear Doctor,

Sorry I ran out of space. My question was do you think the case presentation could have been an atypical seizure. He was very combative and would not follow commands. As I might have mentiones his past medical history was a previous MI and he might have been on some SSRI and Effexor
We carry Valium on the anbulance and would have been appropriate to give him Valium. If a seizure was ruled out I think the Valium would have sedated him enough so we could have elicited a better assessment and history from the patient
Just wondering what you think given the facts of the case

                      Sincerely
                      Michael G. Martin (Paramedic)
