I suffer from craniofacial hyperhydrosis - most of my adult life - learned to live with it but keeps me from doing a lot of social things and have to hide it a lot when I can -----miserable condition - several years back I suffered a mild depression and the ER treatment was ativan for a short period of time. During that time I cut the 1 mg tablet in half (quite a feat unto itself)-I suddenly noticed I was not hot anymore - I functioned like normal people - hot when I exercised or did anything strenuous - but otherwise could vacuum or walk about myhouse without starting to sweat and become uncomfortable - or getting dressed for work I did not sweat and practically run to the a/c in my car and keep a fan blowing on me all day - even in the winter -----when I mentioned this to my Doc she looked at me a if I were panning for drugs. --I am on effexor 75 daily - keeps me from going off but does not aleviate the sweating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is there an ativan sub

Hello,

All medicines, including anti-depressives can have different side-effects in different people. While Effexor can make you sweat, other anti-depressives like Wellbutrin may not do so.

There are a number of anti-depressives which you can discuss with your doctor. Wellbutrin is a good drug for depression. Other drugs like Cymbalta and lamictal can also control depression.

But frankly, different depressants have different effects in various people. You will have to take different types to find out what works best for you.
