I have continually had tingling and tremors in my lower

Sent to Health Experts October 15 08:07 PM

I have continually had tingling and tremors in my lower extremities and around the thoracic region. I do have a small 3mm lesion intrinsic in nature. I don't understand why my neurologist can't find out why I have this going on. When I don't take Lyrica or Baclofen it continues and I also feel a girdle like sensation around my waist as well. I get dizzy and weak and tiredness and my neurologist just doesn't get it or is puzzled. What else can I do to find out what is going on?

Optional Information:
Female, Age: 52, California

Already Tried:
medications, MRI to thoracic, head and neck, physical therapy to my bilateral legs, I have hyperflexia

If you are meaning nerve conduction studies, yes about a year ago and they say there is significant poor activation in the muscles of my right leg.

I have weakness in my right leg and right arm.

When I raise my right leg and bring back down there is a definite click, and posteriorly I have a nodule that is firm and rubbery that I am able to move a little. When I walk a significant distance my last three toes go completely numb on the right foot.

This seems very much like Peripheral Neuropathy. Peripheral Neuropathy is due to a disorder of the nerves which may be caused by various reasons, most commonly diabetes. It also occurs due to old age, hypothyroidism, etc.

There are various ways to treat peripheral neuropathies. This also depends on the cause. In general, Maintaining optimum weight, proper diet, vitamin supplements, exercise, treating stress and depression will help in reducing the symptoms. You should try to achieve this at home. You can take Vitamin B and Vitamin E supplements which are available at all pharmacies. You should also go for regular exercise.

Besides this of course, you have to approach a neurologist and get the investigations done.

Thank you very much for this information. I thought it might be peripheral neuropathy. I think it is from the intrinsic lesion on my spinal cord that is in nerve fibers and this has also demyelinated my cord somewhat which they say from some infectious process.

I will take the vitamins and decrease my weight and exercise, but exercising right now like walking is a chore but I am starting pilates.
