I have diabetes which at the moment is being treated by diet alone but over the last few weeks i have been getting sharp pains in my feet when I walk and also at night. I have also been getting a numbness in my hands but this is mainly at night. Can you tell me will this be through the diabetes and what shall i do.

Reply to UrFriend's Post: My sugar reading is on average around 8.5 each day. I was diagnosed with Diabetes twelve months ago but not been put on medication. I currently take tablets for hypertension and hypothythroidism (THYROXINE)I do drink once a week at weekends but the rest of the week I drink pop or water. My food diet is excellent I dont take drugs and never have. I am a bit concerned to whether I should be on medication rather than doing this by diet alone. I have an appointment to see nurse in a fortnight where I can discuss this problem but should I see doctor earlier.
